The place where power is generated, step upped & transmitted to remote places, called a Power plant.
Power planets are Six types.
1. Thermal power plant
2. Hydro power plant
3. Nuclear power plant
4. Gas power plant
5. Solar power plants
6. Wind power plants
1. Thermal power plant: Where electricity is generated using of steam from coal heat energy. chemical energy of coal is converted to heat energy in a furnace. this heat energy is using to boil water and used for generate steam in a boiler. this steam is further heated to generate for super-heated steam which contains high energy level. this super-heated steam travelled from boiler to a turbine and this steam pusses the wings of turbine so that it is generated mechanical forces. Due to these forces rotation forces generated on turbine shaft and shaft is start to rotate as per our requirement. We can control the speed of shaft with using governors. this shaft is coupled with generator shaft and power has been transferred from turbine shaft to generator shaft. when rotor shaft is cutting magnetic flux there are emf is generated in stater of generator. We receive this emf on generator terminals which is connected to a transformer which is step up this voltage for transmission .
2. Hydro power plant:Where electricity is generated using of water velocity. mechanical energy of water is converted to kinetic energy in a pan-stoke. this kinetic energy is using to flow water and used flowing water as a medium of energy transfer. this flowing water contains high energy level after travelled from top head level to pan-stoke down level and this water pusses the wings of turbine so that it is generated mechanical forces. 3. Nuclear power plant: Where electricity is generated using of steam from Nuclear heat energy. chemical energy of atom is converted to heat energy in a nuclear reactor. this heat energy is using to boil water and used for generate steam in a boiler. this steam is further heated to generate for super-heated steam which contains high energy level. this super-heated steam travelled from boiler to a turbine and this steam pusses the wings of turbine so that it is generated mechanical forces. 4. Gas power plant:Where electricity is generated using of steam from Gas heat energy. chemical energy of Gas is converted to heat energy in a Gas . this heat energy is using to burning of gas & boil water by using of this heat and used for generate steam in a boiler. this steam is further heated to generate for super-heated steam which contains high energy level. this super-heated steam travelled from boiler to a turbine and this steam pusses the wings of turbine so that it is generated mechanical forces. We receive this emf on generator terminals which is connected to a transformer which is step up this voltage for transmission.
5. Solar power plants: Where electricity is generated with sun shine energy. there are many solar panels using as a power collector and connected to each other. collective voltage of solar systen can be used directly in electric load or can be store in a battery bank which can use any time.
there are photons available in sun shine which are as a energy bundle. when sun shine meet on solor panel surface the photo electric diode is receive these photones and movement of electrones startes after receiving energy from photon & there is a current flowwing. we can collect these current in a battery or can be use directly.
6. Wind power plants: Where electricity is generated with wind energy. there are a rotating fan installed in way of wind blowing which rotates when wind blow in the direction of the wind turbine arms from one place to another place. wind energy generate mechanical energy after rotating arms of wind turbines. the shaft of turbine forces rotation forces generated on turbine shaft and shaft is start to rotate as per our requirement. We can control the speed of shaft and this shaft is coupled with generator shaft and power has been transferred from turbine shaft to generator shaft. when rotor shaft is cutting magnetic flux there are emf is generated in stater of generator.
